LETTERPRESS BISCUITS

When I left Australia, a good friend of mine, gave me these letterpress cookie cutters (available here or here) as a gift. I got a chance to give them a spin last week, which was fun.

 

I had a little help. 

I'm no pro cookie maker, but I do love the Biscuiteers recipe from this book - secret ingredient golden syrup makes them extra delicious! And I will press a bit harder next time.

I think they'd make some fun birthday biscuits, don't you? Spelling out the birthday-ee's name, a holiday greeting, or can you imagine a cute wedding proposal? (Not sure how many cookie-making men are out there, but I think it would be really sweet!)

LEAVING ON A JET PLANE + GIVEAWAY WINNER

I know it's been a quiet week around here this week, and you know what that means...it's been manic on the home front! : ) It's been busy here as we pack up our life here and head over to Canada. But we've had some lovely time with family and friends - very much a bittersweet time.

I started my business here in Australia a couple of years ago and really I never knew this whole world of lovely like-minded women online existed. I'm so glad I have met you here and in real life at the markets, photo shoots and other collaborations. My life is all the richer for having you all in it. Thank you for making room in your worlds for me!

And so now the time has come to say goodbye to you too...but just from this chair. There is a new chair and studio space just awaiting me (somewhere...somehow) And we have to still do the final farewells, the sitting on of the suitcases and final weigh in, the cramming in of my favourite Aussie foods, closing of accounts, last minute coat and beanie purchases....(At least it's Easter and there's lots of chocolate around the place to combat the stress!)

Letterpress Wedding Invitation

A little break from blue & orange plane parties...just for a bit! I wanted to share this with you...

I love doing wedding jobs! One of my favourites is this stationery I designed for my sisters wedding earlier this year...ah...that blue and brown....get's me everytime! 

I've had the wonderful privilege to work with a bride recently who wanted a letterpress style invitation (so hot right now!) The couple wanted something a little bit quirky and fun as he was a huge sports fan but she leant more towards the traditional. This is what we came up with for their wedding on the weekend. 

The lovely Louise of Poppy Letterpress did a gorgeous print job of this and I can't wait to work with her again! (Another of my sisters is getting married early next year, and I think she is quite keen on the letterpress idea - yay!!). Polkadot Prints Wedding stationery info here.
