HAPPY NEW YEAR AND TAKING ON NEW GRAPHIC DESIGN JOBS

Well, it's a little late, but consider this my official hello for 2015!

I kind of fell off the blogging wagon by the end of last year. I was still around on social media and consuming blogs, but just didn't have the same joy and sparkle I did from earlier last year. I really needed to just bunker down, grieve, spend time with family, and just do my freelance work in my own time and without any expectation that it had to be blogged about. Just take the pressure off. That's hard in this industry, when you feel like you're being left behind, but for the first time ever, I didn't even care. A sure sign I needed a break! : )

I was still working, just for some regular clients and not taking on much new...B U T...I'm now back!
I feel refreshed, I feel more like myself again, I feel inspired and energised to get back in my creative zone and design again and in new ways. I have the mojo back folks, and it feels good!

I will share over the coming weeks, some of the projects I worked on last year, that you haven't seen yet. As well as a couple of family birthdays that I'd love to share. I can't wait to get this year off the ground as I gear up for all the new projects. EVERYTHING IS BRIGHT & NEW

Happy new year friends!
I hope you've had a wonderful break. It's been so stinking hot here at times, it has made me wish for a snow day or two in Canada!

We saw in the new year with some good friends who hosted an outdoor movie night. So much fun! The kids made little box cars for the "drive in" which was a genius idea in also keeping them contained while eating their dinner...I think we should use them every night : )

While things have been quiet here in blog-world, I have been working on a lot of freelance design projects lately, trying to get a new portfolio put together, and adding new designs to the shop. I don't know if it's a last spurt of pregnancy motivation (34weeks!), but I'm feeling like a design machine at the moment and it feels good! I can't wait to start sharing some of these designs in the coming weeks.

We are gradually settling into life here again, although a bit of a downer has been finding out our shipping container packed with all our earthly belongings, is still sailing the seas and expected to be another month or so away! Living out of suitcases is a little wearing some days, until I remember something that I have on it's way and I get excited that we will have another 'christmas' when our favourite things arrive and get unpacked. Looking forward to that!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I'm always a little behind the eight ball when it comes to celebrating new years. And let's be frank, in the past few years, I've struggle to make it to the magic 12 o'clock, but I do like the new outlook, the freshness off the start to a new year.

"What is the one word or sentence that sums up 2011 for you?"
My dad asked this today at a family lunch and the word that sprung to mind first for me was: "transitional". It's been a year of waiting; in a holding pattern or "limbo-land"as I often call it. Our house is temporary, we've been waiting for decisions about a big move next year, and we're growing from one child to two not to mention all the little day to day ups and downs of life. I'm ready to launch and for things start to move forward in 2012! Bring on a season of 'new'!

I really feel that the best is yet to come next year. I like to think of the cup half full, so I do get this way every year when I think about the potential a whole new year brings. But, maybe this year it will be more tangible in a way.
I've been thinking a lot about what my business too and what that will look like next year. How much time I want to spend on it, what I want it to say and how I want to position myself in the industry's I find myself a part of. It's been a bit of a brain drain and sometimes I've felt like I am going to be going against the tide with some changes I'm going to be implementing, but I feel it is right. So, you may see some things changing around this place, some new priorities and maybe even a new look (yay!!).

I saw this New years resolution kit via Dandee today and I wish it was around in the past two weeks for me to get my thoughts together about goal setting for 2012. You never know, it still may come in handy as I deliberate and make some intentional decisions... : )

2011 Forecast is bright

Happy New Year to you! I'm back on deck and have been welcomed back home from holidays with storms and floods in the state we live in. Not a great start to the year...but these are the tropics after all! My husband made it home today after being cut off by floodwater and unable to go any where. My thoughts and prayers are with the families who are dealing with unbelievable loss and disaster. It's sad to watch. 

Other than the drama that is going on, I do love January, it's all shiny and new and the forecast into the months ahead looks good. So many ideas and creative endeavours I would like to achieve this year.  I have colours, designs, styling ideas, craft projects, ribbon, party wear all floating around in my head. It all lays before me, and makes me excited!
