Levi's Aeroplane Party
Our little boy has turned 2! Wow! I can't believe I have been parenting for two years (so much to learn!) In our house, we aren't planning on doing big parties every year, and since we did just family for his 1st birthday, it was number 2 that got the big celebration!
We planned a morning party for some little friends, and then a family thing in the evening which worked well.
I started with this invitation. Working with those yummy colours, as well as aeroplane inspired packaging (I love all the 'mini' things you get on a plane at meal times!), this is what we came up with!
I think my favourite thing turned out to be this last minute idea of these cartons I made which we used for scavenger hunt loot, and to help offload all those lollies to our little guests! I'll be doing a detailed post about these in coming days.
Also, I'll show you how I made those cute chocolate 'fly' clouds, super easy, and could be adjusted for many a themed event.
I'd love to hear what your favourite element is!
I want to thank a few people who helped with this party :: The lovely Chris from Celebrations at home, for the inspiration board :: Vesna from My Little Jedi for the emergency delivery of divine twine :: Amy Moss from Eat Drink Chic for the milk carton inspiration :: and my lovely friend Liz who was my night-before sounding board, crafting and cupcake icing whizz!

ReplyDeleteI was wondering if you would be willing to share how you made the milk carton's. I have been looking/trying to find some kind of pattern for these but have had no luck.
Would you be willing to share?

The backdrop is a 'wallpaper' that is custom designed (by yours truly!) to match the theme. It is then stuck to the wall behind the table!
ReplyDeleteWow, we are in love with this table! Especially loving the airplane cake and amazing backdrop!
ReplyDeleteGoodness, how brilliant is all of this! Well done!
ReplyDeleteHi Jordan, just wondering where did you get the cupcake toppers from and the cake design?
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous! I made the cupcake toppers with the help of a sister! The cake I also made based on an Australian Women's Weekly design. x
ReplyDeleteThanks for getting back to me. Wow u are so clever! I find it hard enough getting the table set without baking - great job.
ReplyDeleteIt's a tiny detail (and you definitely covered them all so well!!) but I was wondering what you used to hold your buffet labels? I am doing a rainbow & clouds party for my 2 year old daughter this weekend & just came across your very cute idea!
ReplyDeleteI used giant marshmallows to hold the buffet labels. I snipped a little slit in the top and being a little bit sticky, they held the cardboard perfectly! I hope that helps!
ReplyDeleteAwesome party, I love the colours and the styling. It gives off such a fresh vibrant tone, which is just as a travel party should be. Those baggage favors are adorable too :-)
