Party Favour Friday :: Shortcake in a Jar

(image source: if you know, please let me know!)
Okay so I don't know about you, but I find individual or mini things so appealing. I love this idea for a take home treat - Strawberry shortcake in a jar! You can find jars like this in kitchen stores, or even some cheap shops. You could get quite a production line going with these I'd imagine! Like this party favour, the cutlery is included to get a head start on the way home!
I did a more child orientated jar with the Billy thank you tag recently. I filled mine with milk bottle lollies, but you could fill with little plastic animals or pencils, for a sugar-free treat! Any other things you think would suit a jar favour?
Well it has been a big week here at Polkadot Prints (can you tell by the fact I am posting a Friday post on Saturday?? Ha!). I am taking a few days to visit my parents early in the week, so will see you in a few days.
While you put *your* feet up, here are a few things from around Blog-world this week. I hope you have a lovely weekend!

  2. This is such a great idea! Is there a tutorial for the strawberry shortcake jar? How could you seal the jar and still keep the cream fresh?

  3. I agree with Lee... would love tips on making the strawberry shortcake jar. I have read that the cakes in a jar aren't really safe to store at room temp (if you had a bunch to make ahead of time), how well do you think this would freeze?

  4. Lee & Michelle - I've just found this tutorial on the jars. Another source says you can refrigerate them for up to 7 days, and even freeze them...yum!
