BOUTIQUE BAKING LOGO & BUSINESS CARD

I love it when a job comes along that you really love, that suits your own aesthetic and just gels with you. Boutique Baking's logo and stationery was one of those jobs. Kate had a specific font in mind, so we worked with that to create her logo and then went on from there to design stationery, stickers and Facebook images.
The business cards were my favourite. Printed on a really nice card stock, they look and feel lush (said the paper geek!). You can follow on her baking adventures here.

LOGO DESIGN & MINI BRANDING :: VERUS VITA COMMUNICATIONS

I designed this logo for a client/friend of mine in Canada. She is a freelance journalist and PR consultant. She had a strong sense of what she wanted, more of a word mark than an image. After a couple of concepts she settled on this vibrant and friendly red version. I really like how it turned out.

Even though we live in a digital age, with all my logo clients I include a business card design. So I added some hand illustrated elements to get the conversation going! : )
I think it's nice to get the logo off the screen and have something tangible at the end of the day. Don't you?

LOGO DESIGN & BRANDING :: ISONow

Over the past few months of taking some time off from blogging, I've had some time to reassess my whole work/mum balance and have been happily getting back to more of my freelance graphic design roots.
I want to start sharing more of my freelance stuff here on my blog. It's not always party related or pretty, but I really enjoy doing these projects and I thought it actually gives you a fuller picture of the work that I do do when I'm not making parties or life pretty at my place. COPING THROUGH LOGO & BRANDING

A few weeks back I had a logo & branding sale. It's been a lot of fun getting to help people build a brand and logo for their business. I will share a few of those logos that I can over the coming weeks. This one today, is close to my heart. All about supporting those going through a loss of a baby. We worked on a few concepts, but Michelle settled on this direction which appealed to both male & female.  The main logo can be reversed out and also supported with a 'rain shower' pattern. I look forward to seeing it worked out on their website, social media & stationery. I'll let you know when the site goes live!

MAKING MY OWN BUSINESS CARDS

For the past few months I've been pondering this here blog. (A delayed new years resolution kind a thing I think). I keep wondering how I want it to look this time next year. How I want to grow it, what my focus should be. Lots going on upstairs, but not necessarily all productive, lets say that!
I needed new business cards, but while I continue to deliberate I didn't want an expensive temporary option, so I decided I would make my own. As you do. It's always nice to delve into my box of supplies and make something tangible instead of sending a digital file off to a printer.

I used:
Letterpress weight business cards
Label paper wrap-around design
Cotton string

It was pretty easy to create a handful of them while having some down time with Levi. And if you ordered the Easter bags, you'll have one of them in your pack of goodness!

Speaking of Easter bags, I've had some requests for printable versions of the design. Is this something you would be interested in?

DESIGN LOVE :: TRAFIQ

I've been looking at some packaging sites lately. I really need to allocate some design time to doing some more myself. (The old 'too many ideas and not enough time') I do love me some snazzy packaging though. And I know I'm not alone in knowing first hand, that clever packaging can sell anything!

This food packaging for Trafiq is so much fun. A cigarette packet for hot chips, and burger packaging that opens up to be your own plate. Clever, clever!

I hope you've got some fun weekend plans. I'm in need of some recharge. So hopefully I will get some downtime in there somewhere. Hope you have a good one : )

DESIGN LOVE :: GRILL'D BRANDING

One of my goals for this year is to share more of what inspires me. Things I love, find fun, interesting or well designed. So here's to it...today it's branding. I love a well branded company!

Australian burger franchise Grill'd was on our list to visit on our holiday last month. Their branding is stand out and the whole vibe and experience is no doubt what has made them such a winning start up. Grill'd branding is designed by Fabio Ongarato Design. Nice one guys!

You get a "hey" when you walk in and a "seeya later" when you walk out. Seriously, I was watching. Every. single. person. Impressive! (and so are the burgers!). Craving one right now.

BRANDED :: MOLLY MOON ICE CREAM

Since our evening out at What the Truck, owning a food truck is on my bucket list. I saw this truck & branding of Molly Moon Ice Cream recently which is enticing me even more! I love the retro vibe, and brown & blue are one of my favourite colour combo's.

Wouldn't it be fun to just drive around and sell ice cream making people so happy? My idea of a good time!
