In the last little while I have had some lovely exposure of Polkadot Prints. Welcome to those of you who are new followers, thanks!
The latest feature was from Kim of the The TomKat Studio. If you're a fan of hers, you may have seen this party on her blog yesterday. It was the first birthday & dedication of my nephew, who it feels has almost grown up on this blog - baby shower, birth announcement, and now first birthday & dedication. (It helps that my sister loves events and planning!)
His room has a classic nautical colour scheme and so translating that to his party was only natural. There were a lot more adults than children at the party, so we were able to do a few more grown up things with food which was fun. Take a look ::
Salt & pepper squid and curly fries came out fresh in paper cones with decorative party dots - they were gone in a heartbeat!
This jelly slice is so handy as you can make the top layer any colour you like to match your event. You may have seen it here before. The cake was made by another sister Mercy - legend!
Another winner - Mini Hot Dogs; adults loved these just as much as the kids! All the paper goods so-ordinated with these invites. Rectangle & round buffet labels and straw tags really helped tie the theme together.
I used these pyramid treat boxes personalised for each guest to fill with lollies as a take home treat. Yum!
And one of the birthday boy and my sister...so pretty!
Supplies: Nautical Printables | Personalised Treat Box | Life Bouy | Cake (one of my sisters!) | Drink Dispenser | Other elements were either supplies I already had or things that were made. (let me know if you have any questions and I'd be more than happy to help where I can!)
I think my favourite part were the mini hot dogs and the treat boxes. What about you?

ReplyDeletewhoa so pretty...
ReplyDeleteDo you mind sharing the reeecipe for the blueberry treats and berry punch, please? This is the exact theme I'm doing for my son's first birthday. So glad I found your blog! Great ideas!!!
ReplyDeleteStephanie - the blueberry meringues are store bought meringue nests filled with whipped cream and topped with blueberries.
ReplyDeleteMy sister made the punch, but you can find a similar recipe here - http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/18551/berry+punch - Of course we didn't put the vodka in for a kids party! :)
Absolute party perfection! Can you tell me where you got the nautical flag pennant? I love the anchor garland as well! So cute!!! gmthayer@comcast.net
ReplyDeleteI am interested in knowing where did you get (or how to make) the life preserver... Thank you! You can email at thaisantos@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteThe bunting was made by my sister (clever!). And the life preserver ring was from eBay I think! I hope that helps : )
