HAPPY WEEKEND + WAITING FOR BABY

Valentine's Love Stickers | Polkadot Prints I hit the 39 week mark this week! So ready for this baby to arrive. To find out if it's a boy or a girl. Decide on a name. And to stop feeling like I am a ticking time bomb with everyone on 'red alert' for when the time comes :).

With our possessions still not here from our move, I'll be operating on a fairly minimal baby basis for the first few weeks. One, I don't think babies really need that much in the early stages, and two I can't even remember what baby paraphernalia is in our container, so I don't really want to go out and buy stuff that I already have!
I have been collecting a little bit of baby love though here. Babies are so new and lovely....

Stay in touch here for the breaking news if you don't follow already. I'm sure I'll be posting there first.

Here are a few things I've come across this week that I thought you might enjoy:

:: Adjusting to the changes of blogging
:: I would so love a photo shoot like this with our family. Maybe at the Ekka this year?!
:: Make a labour pack for a friend

I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Love Jordan : )

P.S It's not too late to get your free "Love is..." wall print. Stay tuned for printed version of this in my shop really soon!

SICK + TIRED

Summer Travels | Polkadot Prints Summer Travels | Polkadot Prints Oh man, I have had so many "I really should blog today" thoughts over the past few weeks. But to be honest, the motivation has just not been there. You see...I'm pregnant with baby number three! (yay!) So I've been literally sick & tired for the past 12 weeks. How quickly you forget what the early months of morning sickness is like! (which is a good thing, or I'm sure there would not have been another babe on the radar!).

I've just really retreated into family life of late. Making the most of this waning summer. Not really interested or motivated creatively. Even my regular blog reading went out the window, just wasn't into seeing anything that involved that creative side of my brain! (very weird for me!)

But, the fog is lifting and I notice I am thinking more creatively, sketching and writing ideas down again. It's good to feel 'normal'.

I thought I'd catch you up in photos on the last few weeks of life at our place, heading back to school & making the most of summer and preparing to move back to Brisbane!

Are your kids on Spring holidays back in Oz? What have you got planned?

THE PERFECT PAIR IN REAL LIFE

Do you remember the 'Perfect Pair' shower for my sister? Well, the perfect pair turned out to be Noah & Poppy - aren't they cute?
Photobucket
I just thought I'd share a photo of them looking so cuddly and peaceful, and also a photo of Salem & I a week or so before she gave birth. I laugh because for the first time I was skinnier than she was, quite a proud moment for me (it took her having twins to make it happen though!)

I'm still looking similar to this. With my due date being yesterday, we're still here waiting to find out if we will have a girl or a boy...oh the excitement. Off for a walk to see if I can hurry things along!!

DIY LABOUR KIT

Photobucket
Never fear, my blog isn't turning into a baby blog and I'm not about to share labour stories, but it just feels a little bit like baby season at the moment in my world. One of my closest friends is due any day now, and last week I put together a bit of a fun and positive 'labour kit' for her as her due date closes in. Some of it practical, but some just because.

Kit included:
  • Gatorade (they say labour's like a marathon....)
  • Chocolate or "energy pellets"
  • Mini Oreo's or "husband support power" - it can get tough for the guys! :)
  • Brie Cheese & Crackers (just because you can't have it when you're pregnant)
  • Magazine
  • Puzzle Book

I put a few fun stickers on some of the bits and pieces and packed it all in a hamper box.

Since the gender is a secret, I based the colour scheme on this invite which I used for a personal note inside, as well as a matching hang tag. Let me know if you're interested and I can add the tags to the store...

I think it kind of turned out fun without getting too scary! Anything else you'd add to a labour kit for a friend?
