AUSTRALIA DAY PARTY

I hope you've had a wonderful week! With the public holiday on Monday, my week has felt all out of whack. Are you the same? It's been first day of school for Levi this week too which has brought a whole new routine to adjust to (hello early mornings and packing lunches!).

But rewinding to Australia Day last weekend, I wanted to share a few fun photos from our day. We had a few families around for a day in the pool and a BBQ lunch. It was so lazy and relaxing and everyone had a grand old time. I've taken to making some pinata's lately so whipped up a surfboard filled with Cadbury treats for the occasion. (The first one I made was for Ellie's birthday earlier this month that I am yet to share with you).

It was pretty low key, but a last minute design idea I did up, were these little favour boxes for all the kids to take home the piñata loot in. Finished off with a little Aussie flag from the reject shop!

Love this country. Love our culture. Love my friends & family!

AUSTRALIA DAY INVITATIONS

As a bit of a new year kick off, we decided to host an Australia Day party at our place next weekend. It's nice to be back home and celebrating this wonderful country!

I designed this invitation to send to our friends. (Yes I know Australia Day is the 26th Jan, but we are celebrating on the public holiday!)

HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY

Happy Australia Day for Thursday! I hope you had a fun day those of you who celebrated! We had some friends over for pizza, pool and ice cream. I really enjoyed emerging from newborn-world, and getting my craft on! I pottered about designing some printables and pulling a few props together, most of which I had on hand (which is lucky as I haven't mastered getting out by myself with two children just yet).
I know it may sound a little bit 'bogan', but I actually love the Southern Cross. I was inspired completely by this shoot I shared last year. I needed some other signage for our little get together, so there are a few more themed Australia Day freebies for you at the end of this post that work in with their invites and other printables. A little last minute addition were these fun fans for each person - it was so humid, they came in handy!

I used party dots on the ice cream cups, and buffet circles for some of the food.
And Australia Day is not complete without a dip in the pool! Fun times!

Oi, oi oi! Feeling a little bit patriotic fellow Australians? I really like this shoot for an Australia Day Barbie, seen in the latest edition of Wedding Style Guide. (Loving this magazine at the moment!) It's a perfect colour palette for 4th of July for those of you in northern hemisphere too!
